DJI’s older generation of gimbals, Ronin-S and Ronin-SC, have received a software update improving compatibility with a range of cameras. The update doesn’t introduce any new features but extends its life by supporting many newer cameras.
Yesterday DJI’s official Twitter account released a sneak peek video of an upcoming lightweight camera stabilizer, the DJI Ronin SC, which will be announced during the “Challenge Accepted” event on July 17. This marks the first addition to DJI’s professional gimbal line since the DJI Ronin S’ release back at CES 2018.
Yesterday, DJI released new Ronin-S firmware. The new firmware update (v1.8.0.70) brings you a number of new features. For instance: various focus speed settings for Nikon, Canon and Panasonic cameras, photo capture, video recording, autofocus, and focus pull support for Canon EOS 6D Mark II, Canon EOS R and Nikon Z6 cameras with supported lenses. Similar features for Sony A7M3 and A7R3 cameras and more. Unfortunately, I don’t have a Ronin-S to check out these new features but this seems like a pretty big firmware update to me. Let us know what your findings are after updating your Ronin-S in the comments below.
DJI just introduced a new lower-priced kit for their popular Ronin-S gimbal. Previously the Ronin-S came with the Standard Kit for $749. As of today, you can buy the Ronin-S with the new Essentials Kit for a mere $499. This kit still gives you everything you need to get started with your photography or videography hobby or work but allows you to get in at a lower price point. You can buy the accessories that you’re missing out on separately at a later point in time. For instance, the Ronin-S Focus Wheel can be bought for $59. Expand Expanding Close
It’s a big week for the Ronin-S gimbal from DJI. A few days ago a new firmware update was released for the Ronin-S that added new features to the popular gimbal and fixed some smaller bugs. Now, DJI announced that they are releasing nine new accessories for the Ronin-S to help you capture smooth, stabilized video. Find out about all the details below.
Earlier this week DJI released a firmware update for their Ronin-S gimbal. The new firmware, for instance, brings the option to set the zoom speed for Sony cameras, adds 3D Roll 360 and Auto Roll 360 features for some very creative video shots. Furthermore, it brings new features for cameras such as the Panasonic GH3, GH$, GH5, GH5S, Nikon Z7, Canon 1DX Mark II, and the 5D Mark IV. For all the details see below.
What a great way to start the week! DJI just introduced to much anticipated DJI Ronin S. I was able to play around with a Ronin S prototype during the AUVSI 2018 conference earlier this year and this single-handed stabilizer surely felt to be the real deal. However, the big question was always, how much will DJI charge for this gimbal? DJI employees told me: less than one thousand US dollars. Today, I’m glad to find out that the new DJI Ronin S will sell for $699 USD, positioning it right below its competitor the Zhiyun Crane 2 which is priced at $749.
The DJI Ronin S is available for pre-orders today at DJI, and exclusively through B&H (saves you sales tax if you live outside NY/NJ). Shipping will start in late June.
Yesterday, DJI announced their all-new DJI Ronin-S stabilizer. It will come in two different sizes to support both mirrorless and D-SLR cameras. It will also work with the most common camera and (zoom) lens combinations, such as the Canon 5D, Panasonic GH, and Sony Alpha series. On paper, it seems like DJI has a winner on their hands with the all-new Ronin-S. It has all the features you could wish for, but no word yet on the pricing.
Will DJI price this stabilizer as aggressively as they have priced the redesigned Osmo Mobile 2? Let’s take a closer look.
Chinese drone manufacturer, DJI just released two new products right before the start of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this year. The first is the redesigned Osmo Mobile 2 for smartphones, which will initially be exclusively for sale at the Apple store online. The second is the all-new Ronin S stabilizer for mirrorless and DSLR cameras.
