Might processed wood become a power source replacement for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles like drones and cars? Despite the skepticism of many scientists, one Japanese paper company thinks trees have the potential to do just that.
A South Korean company says its fuel cell technology provides enough energy to sustain two-hour drone flights. And it says it’s already made flights to prove it.
Late last year the first reports surfaced of drones unexpectedly falling out of the sky in the UK. Affected drones were from the Matrice and Inspire series. DJI issued an official statement and started an investigation into the issue. The Chinese drone maker subsequently released two different firmware updates to tackle the issue and now concludes the TB55 battery investigation, saying that the most recent firmware update resolved the problem. See below for DJI’s official statement.
This morning DJI surprised us with the launch of the all-new DJI Battery Station. This latest battery-charging product from Chinese drone manufacturer DJI is aimed at industry professionals or filmmaking crews who need to be able to keep shooting throughout the day.
The new DJI Battery Station is an all-in-one battery charging solution for the Intelligent Battery TB50, which is compatible with the Ronin 2, Inspire 2 and M200 series. The Battery Station can store up to 12 TB50 Intelligent Batteries but it can only charge 8 batteries at a time. Different charging points allow users to charge other electronic devices such as certain remote controllers, WB37 Intelligent Batteries and mobile devices using the USB charge point.
