DJI Mini 2

If you’ve seen the new DJI Mini 2, you would have noticed the inclusion of a light on the front. Was it a last-minute change instead of obstacle avoidance being added? A recent comment on Billy Kyle’s comparison video of the original Mini and Mini 2 seems to think so.

Hey DJI Mini 2 owners, DJI wants you to share some feedback on your recent drone purchase so it can improve its future products and better suit them to you and other customers. The survey is available right now in the DJI Fly app.

We are fortunate enough, at this point in time, to have both the original DJI Mavic Mini, and the new upstart, the Mini 2, at the same time. So it seemed only logical that we should put them into the drone equivalent of The Octagon. Wait until you see the outcome!

There are plenty of reasons to buy the new DJI Mini 2. In fact, we outlined 10 reasons why you might want to consider picking up the new drone in this story. We also put the new drone to the test in this video. But we have some thoughts, based on personal experience.

Upon opening the DJI Fly app to go out for a flight, an update appears that lets you use the DJI Mavic Air 2 and DJI Mini 2 with the same RC-N1 remote controller. Does this mean DJI is preparing for the future of selling drones without controllers?

As an early drone adopter, my heart broke often. My first drone was a toy helicopter that took one fuzzy shot of me from about 40 feet up before I lost control and it hit the ground never to fly again. Then a series of mostly “toy” quadcopters, one of which was monstered by my niece’s dog. But last month, DJI loaned us a Mavic Mini (now discounted) and then the just-released Mini 2. I flew both for the first time within days of one another.

DJI has finally dropped – if that’s the right word – its latest drone, the Mini 2, an improvement over the popular Mavic Mini. Its Fly More Combo sells for $599 compared to $499 for the older drone combo. What do you get for the extra cash? We have a few of the latest specs from DJI. Let’s take a look:

You’ve seen some of the leaks. Now, the wait is over. You can now buy the new DJI Mini 2. But should you? Depends on what you’re looking for. But we’ve put together a list of 10 reasons why you might want to consider picking up this amazing little drone.

Well, the cat is apparently out of the bag. And that cat – the Mini 2 Fly More package – appears to be priced at $599. We saw this price elsewhere, but with a new website posting this today we’re confident in saying that appears to be the retail price.

A new DJI teaser launched on Chinese social media indicates that a new product launch is coming in a couple of days. We’re going out on a logical limb and saying this will be the Mini 2 launch. Why? Read on.

It’s that time of year again. For many of us – even with the pandemic – it’s time to shop. Whether it’s for Christmas presents, Thanksgiving, or simply to treat yourself or someone you care about, a lot of us are starting to think about ordering gifts like the new DJI Mini 2, which we’ve been covering in the lead-up to its apparently imminent release. And now, DJI itself is offering a helping hand with a newly released Holiday Gift Guide mini-site.

We are getting very close, it would seem, to the release of DJI’s replacement for the Mavic Mini: The Mini 2. Based on the fact that Best Buy has put the item on the floor in more than one location — along with hints from DJI staff — we’re betting next week. Specifically, based on an email we received today, November 4. There’s lots to support that.

Listen up: Hear that sound? “Drip…drip…drip…” Why, it’s more information about the impending release of DJI’s replacement for the incredibly successful Mavic Mini: The DJI Mini 2!

Well, it had to happen. If one person can walk into a Best Buy in the US and purchase a DJI Mini 2 prior to the official release date…someone else can do the same. And if one person can shoot and post an unboxing video, so can that second person. I think you see where we’re headed here…

After the DJI Mini 2, previously thought to be named Mavic Mini 2, leaked in an unboxing video yesterday, it came with the same controller as the Mavic Air 2, suggesting the Mini 2 should work with the DJI Smart Controller. But will DJI allow you to fly with the Smart Controller?

The DJI Mavic Mini 2 is here sooner than planned. A YouTuber managed to get his hands on a brand new unit, complete with manual and specifications.

The DJI Mini 2 has leaked once again, this time on the Chinese website BiliBili in its latest fall promotion as one of the prizes. The DJI Mini 2, named the DJI Mini 2 in the promotion, was found on the terms and conditions page with the DJI Pocket 2.

The next drone rumored to be coming from DJI is the Mavic Mini 2, a refresh of the Mavic Mini to bring 4k to the tiny drone. We have already seen images of what looks to be the Mavic Mini on the FCC database along with a price leak.

It’s no secret that DJI has been spinning up an all-new Mavic Mini 2 this year after the successful launch of their cheapest drone in 2019. Now DroneDJ has a solid preview of how much you should expect to pay for the successor to the affordable everyday flycam. DJI’s Mavic Mini 2 appears to cost a little more than the original, but the upgraded hardware will still be competitive with mid-range model prices.

There’s a lot of speculation today that DJI may be gearing up for a Mavic Mini 2. There’s a relevant patent, and some other pretty convincing evidence to back up the theory — even an official but blurry look at the new drone.

Well, well. Regular and reliable DJI Twitter tipster @OsitaLV has issued a Tweet that’s short and to the point: “Mavic Mini 2 is on the way.” There are a lot of people who would be ready for that… along with some improvements.
