First announced at AUVSI, the platform is designed to seamlessly integrate with the rest of the company’s platforms. Let’s see what it does.

So Skydio pulled off the company’s largest event so far: A launch presentation that featured a demo of its powerful 3D Scan software, along with examples of how real-world clients have demonstrated its effectiveness in the field using a Beta version.

US-based Skydio has been giving us glimpses of the capabilities of its 3D Scan software. Used in conjunction with the company’s drones, the results we’ve seen are very impressive.

Drones don’t tend to hit mainstream media that often. Certainly they’ll make headlines when there’s a rescue – or, conversely, then something goes wrong. But rarely do drones as an industry make much of a blip on day-to-day news coverage. Well, CNN took a dive into Skydio this week.

Axon, a company perhaps best known for the body cams many police officers now routinely wear and also for the Taser, has partnered with Skydio in a deal that seems certain to expand the use of Skydio drones by law enforcement. The strategic partnership will offer Skydio drones to law enforcement and other first responders through Axon’s unmanned aircraft program – Axon Air.
