Update your Osmo Action with latest firmware before using, says DJI

Update your Osmo Action with latest firmware before using, says DJI

The DJI Osmo Action is off to a very good start. Many people seemed to doubt if DJI’s action camera could stand up to competition from GoPro’s Hero 7 black. However, many of the initial reviews show that the DJI Osmo Action is actually quite an amazing little action camera. The electronic image stabilization, RockSteady does an amazing job and, of course, having two display does make recording a lot easier. If you bought a DJI Osmo Action over the weekend, be sure to update it to DJI’s latest firmware before using. The new update brings some final touches and improvements to things such as the sound system, RockSteady, the WiFi connection, and improved Timelapse and HDR video quality.

DJI firmware update for the DJI Osmo Pocket – version v01.07.00.20

DJI releases new Osmo Pocket firmware update

DJI just released a firmware update for the DJI Osmo Pocket, version v01.07.00.20. The file size is about 99MB and brings improvements for the focus speed, reduced focus pulsing, added the Hyperlapse feature and volume adjustment for an external microphone. Sounds like a small update? Not really. We use the DJI Osmo Pocket for a lot of recordings and these improvements make a big difference. Yeah, a full frame DSLR will outperform the DJI Osmo Pocket in resolution and low light performance, but it will never outperform the Osmo Pocket when it comes to portability. This little guy goes anywhere!

DJI releases new Osmo Pocket firmware update – v01.06.00.30

DJI releases new Osmo Pocket firmware update

It seems like no other DJI product has received this many product updates in such a short time frame. Today, DJI releases yet another new Osmo Pocket firmware update. Version v01.06.00.30. This latest firmware update solves an issue that has to do with incorrect timestamps on photos and videos. It is a relatively small update but a necessary one.

The previous firmware update was released less than two weeks ago. In that update, DJI improved face tracking, focus pulsing and added an icon when you add an external microphone to the device.

While the DJI Osmo Pocket may not deliver the video quality professional videographers and filmmakers are after, especially in low light conditions, I still really like the gimbal-stabilized camera for its ease-of-use and pocketability. The Osmo Pocket is so easy to take with you and in the right conditions provides both good video quality and sound quality, that I always bring it with me.

Newly introduced but out of stock DJI Smart Controller gets firmware update

Newly introduced but out of stock DJI Smart Controller gets firmware update

The newly introduced but out of stock DJI Smart Controller gets its first firmware update. Earlier this week, during CES 2019, DJI released the new DJI Smart Controller for the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, Zoom, and Enterprise drones. Interestingly enough the controller is still listed as out of stock on DJI’s website. And as of yet, we have not even seen this new product filed with the FCC, although the partial government shutdown might have something to do with that. On top of that, there are persistent rumors that the Chinese drone maker is working around the clock to assemble all the necessary components for this new controller. Leaving us wondering when we may be able to actually buy this exciting new device. However, none of this stopped DJI from releasing the first firmware upgrade for the DJI Smart Controller.

DJI releases new firmware updates for TB50 and TB55 batteries

DJI releases new firmware updates for TB50 and TB55 batteries. Improved firmware addresses early Return-To-Home or Automatic Landing of M200 Series drones without compromising measures implemented to maintain flight safety

DJI has released new firmware updates for users of TB50 and TB55 batteries which address the small number of reports of Matrice 200 Series drones experiencing early Return-to-Home (RTH) or Automatic Landing (AL). These cases are not due to product performance issues but are false alarms triggered by conservative measures DJI implemented last month to prevent any further potential of M200 series drones experiencing loss of power mid-flight. DJI continues a thorough investigation of the root cause of the issue until it is fully resolved.
